FUN WITH FOLK ART
Nellie’s lecture and trunk show is a
lively hour of sharing her love of Folk Art Quiltmaking. She gives a
little glimpse into her life as a full time quilt maker, mother, wife and
designer. Her passion for quilting is contagious and she knows how to put
the fun back into quilting. Nellie talks about colour, design and where
her inspirations come from. She has a large collection of quilts and
enjoys sharing them with the audience. Her journey into quilting making is
interesting and inspiring and her stories bring smiles and laughter to her
listeners. An optional slide presentation includes Nellie's large
collection of quilts, folk and primitive art.
TAKING QUILTING FROM A
HOBBY TO A BUSINESS
Let Nellie share with you the adventure
of taking what began as a hobby to a full time job in the quilting world.
Nellie began her adventure in the late seventies as a potter. When she
discovered quilting she knew she had found her niche. Share the journey
into pattern designing, teaching and book publishing. This is an
interesting lecture and a glimpse into what it is like to work full time
in the quilting business. Nellie's sense of humour is what has allowed her
to stick with it through thick and thin. A trunk show of Nellie's work is
included in this presentation.
